How much does it cost?
Membership runs from 1st July annually and now costs £5 per year.

If you join after December a half year membership costs £2.50. You will be invited to renew in July at the full rate.

If you join in May or June we'll sign you up at the full annual rate and your membership will run though to July next year. (It didn't seem fair to change people for 6 months and then make them renew a few weeks later so you get those weeks for free.)

Fifty pence surcharge is added if you pay via paypal.

How do I join?
You can join at one of the Thursday night club meetings. Just track down one of the committee members and they will sort you out with a form. Alternatively, you can join online via PayPal. Just click on the 'Buy Now' button to the right.

After you have paid you will be returned to the site to fill in a membership form. These details are necessary to get you on the insurance policy so make sure you fill in all the details.

You also need to make sure you have read our terms and conditions in section 4 of the constitution. We accept your membership on the basis that you have agreed to these terms.

Who should join?
Anyone who is passionate about surfing, can swim 50m in open water and is 18 or over.

The membership spans a wide range of ages and abilities from complete newcomers to experienced surfers. We don't have any preference as to your style of surfing.

What do I get?
There are loads of good reasons to join BSC. Here are just a few:

Discount from local and national shops and services.
Membership entitles you to discount at shops like Sharkbite, LooseFit, BeachShack and WSW. Check out our discounts page for full details. We also have group membership for organizations like Surfers against Sewage and the BSA.

You'll surf more often.
It's the best ways to improve your surfing. If there is a chance of a wave then someone from BSC will be on it and most people are only too happy to share a lift so you've got no excuse not to get in the water.

On top of that the club runs trips and events throughout the year. 2010 was our busiest yet, with numerous trips to beaches in Devon, Cornwall, South Wales, France and Portugal. We had beginners weekends, advanced coaching sessions, competition trips and plenty of camping expeditions and other social events. Have a look at the gallery for some of the highlights.

Home of the BSC every Thursday night from 8PM.
