| BSC News Letter. 29th January | |
| The Atlantic continues to pump in a wintery sort of way. Half the committee are off in Morocco this week to make the best of it in some warmer water. Another party are off to Portugal next week. As usual, conditions on the beach are changeable but if the wind is in your favour there are definitely waves to be had. Check out Andy T's photos of Putsborough from last weekend to see what our humble beach breaks are capable of.
News
Just a quick thanks to the 27 bodies who attended the AGM. It was all over in 45 minutes and all the resolutions were passed so we're good for another 12 months. The headlines from the meeting were:
- One change to the committee lineup. Shaun resigned as secretary. Dave P is taking his place.
- Membership is up: 96 this year. 71 last year.
- We have surplus cash and a plan to spend it.
- Sim will be seeking volunteers to run events throughout 2009.
Events
We're still working on the calendar for 2009 but we have a couple of things lined up already.
Club Weekend, Bude. April 3rd-5th. Andy has posted a tentative date for the next Bude weekend. Accommodation at Penstowe is very reasonable and we'll be booking beginners lessons with Raven surf school. Post up on the forum if you're interested.
Woolacombe/Bristol fun competition. April 25th. All the contest places have now been filled but we want to make a weekend of it so there will be plenty of time to share a few waves and we'll try to sort out some entertainment in the evening. More details to follow...
