| Right you lot, you've had it all nice and easy until now... now you get an Enforcer style episode to the weekly news letter... Hmmm, the issue is that as Dave has pointed out there is bugger all news! Not to worry I'll make something up.....
Last weekend: Well last weekend was a pile of pants surf wise. Fingers crossed you all had the chance to change your wax, enjoy the sun and get absolutely legless watching the rugby... I managed two out of three so no worries there! Needless to say the wax on my boards is still grubby as hell! (Shoulda got down to Saunton. Ed.)
This weekend's surf forecast: Early signs aren't overly encouraging due to small swell and currently icky North Westerly wind... Boooo I hear you cry! Still its early days so we can pray for change and chat about it at the Pump House on Thursday.
As the featured thing seems so popular with the other committee bods I'm gonna feature my favorite Hindu god.... yup, surfing and religious icons! I bring you Ganesh!!! A body guard for Vishnu or Shiva...Shiva being famed for his bad temper and his ability to destroy anything. The story goes that Ganesh was tasked with looking after Parwati (Shiva's queen). Some guy breaks in, Ganesh enters her room to protect her and the attacker flees... at this point Shiva enters stage right and without so much as a word lops Ganesh's head off thinking he was doing the dirty with his missus. Explanation takes place from Parwati and being a fairly powerful god he realises his mistake... now I'm not sure what happened to the original head and I don't think Shiva was either as he then sent his men to find the first suitable head they could.... bish bash bosh and all that and Ganesh gets a nice new shiny elephants head. Result!
He's a god that supposed to bring good fortune and happiness. That and the fact that his is usually depicted with a pipe, drink, scepter and axe in each hand (yeah he's got four arms but you've already accepted that he has an elephants head!) makes him top banana in my books! (That's it. No more coffee for you young man. Ed.)
On a more surf related topic we've managed a so far pathetic response for the April Gwithian trip. Get on the forum and register your interest! Then pick up the damn phone and get the campsite booked! ;) Check the forum for details.
No other real news for ya, Enforcer signing out having educated, enlightened, berated and bored most to some degree or other!
