BSC Newsletter. 1st April 09
Hi all. It's your humble secretary this week and in a shocking turn of events we actually have some news. Indeed, there is even the prospect of some surf over the next few days. Probably not epic but with any luck there should be some clean waves about. Check out magic guessweed for the latest forecast. Anyway, on with the news.

First up there are a bunch of proposed events in the offing:

Pembrokeshire Trip - Ben Ward has just posted early plans for a camping trip to Pembrokeshire in May. Proposed dates are the second bank holiday (23rd-25th) or the weekend before (16th-17th).

Scuba Diving - Andy Dibs has passed on the offer of an introductory session with the Bristol Scuba Club at Badminton school one Monday evening. It’s £10 per head.

Wakeboarding Trip - Shaun organised a trip to Cotswold Water Park last year so we figured it was about time we did another one. You can take a surfboard along and experiment with foot positions and rail turns. Cost TBC.

Ding Repair Session - Woody is turning work away at the moment so I suggested we do a group ding repair session one evening. Dates and times have yet to be sorted.

If you’re interested in any of these then jump on the forum or get to the Pumphouse tomorrow and put your name down.

Other stuff that’s coming up soon includes:
Gwithian camping over the Easter weekend - April 10th-12th.
Woolacombe Fun Comp - April 25th-26th.

Shop news
Becs passed on the message that Loose Fit on Blackboy Hill has closed. It’s sad news but she said that the Braunton shop is still going strong.

Also, Nick at Beach Shack has been in touch to say they are running a promotion with Peter Lascelles at Beach Beat to get British made kit in the hands of beginners. They are doing genuine custom minimals starting from £320. Chops has a great reputation for quality gear so they are definitely worth a look. You can call Beach Shack on 0117 9232255.

Thingy of the week
Finally, continuing the recent theme I’m picking a web site of the week. Roger Sharp or "Sharpy" runs http://www.surfphoto.co.uk - a great little photography blog. He's just got back from a month in Indo. Check out the video of Ian Battrick. It’s mental stuff.

Right. That’s your lot. There’s a committee session tomorrow from 7:30 so if you’ve got an opinion on any of this then come down to the Pumphouse and let us know. Assuming we don't over-run the regular beers start from around 8pm. See you there.
