| Howzit people? Dave here. We've been extra sloppy with the news letter of late but it's back this week with plenty of news nuggets.
First up, thanks to everyone who helped make the barbecue a success. Great turnout and over £200 raised for SAS. Good work crew. Thanks again to West, Howies, Flo, Sharkbite and Loosefit for the raffle prizes.
Next - Andy Dibs is still taking orders for club tops. If you want one then bring your chequebook this Thursday.
Howard has been in touch about the next Surfscreen film showing at the Cube on Sunday 9th August at 8pm. "In Search of Michael Peterson" has been getting great reviews and the director will be on hand to introduce the movie so this should be a special one. (It's also my birthday so I'll be expecting drinks, OK?)
Two weeks after that Sal is putting together a camping trip to west Cornwall. The camp site is 'Noongallas' in Gulval, north of Penzance. It's not right on the beach but it's a short drive to all kinds of interesting spots and the camping sounds lush (if a bit mental). Full details on the forum. 21st to 23rd August. Stick it in your diary.
The next big date after that is the National Club Longboarding Championships on the 12th/13th of September at Saunton. BSC has a notable history in this event (no giggling please) and we're looking to improve on last years 7th place finish. It's on our doorstep this year so we've got no excuse. The message from the guys at the Hotdoggers is that they are laying on all kinds of stuff including beach football and rounders tournaments. Those guys throw a good party so it should be quite a big deal. Again, stick it in your diary and if you fancy surfing in a team then let Pete know.
There's more stuff in the pipeline including a return trip to the Wooly longboarders and our traditional autumn trip to Newquay. We'll let you know when we have dates.
Finally, the summer photo comp has been running for a few weeks so it's time to pick a winner and a new theme. There are some cool pics so go and have a look on the forum and if you've got a photo that's vaguely related to "Transport" then whack it on there ASAP. We'll make the draw and pick the next theme at the Pumphouse on tomorrow night.
