| Update: 10th Sept 09. The Club Longboard Championships have now been postponed to the weekend of the 26th/27th.
Andy Dibble is sorting another day with Raven surf school in Bude for the 10th of October. The plan is to run two sessions. The first will be a beginners session for about £20 per head including use of a board and wetsuit. The second will be an intermediate coaching session for about £40 per head. This is aimed more at people with their own gear who can paddle out but want some help with takeoffs and basic turns. Andy can also sort accommodation for anyone who wants to make a weekend of it. If you're interested then get your name on the forum ASAP. Closing date is Thursday the 24th Sept. Once we have confirmed numbers we'll get the final prices.
Secondly - a call for help. Two members of the provisional team for this weekends club longboard competition at Saunton have pulled out. If we can't field 6 bodies then we'll have to drop the whole team so we really need some replacements. This is a fun competition so anyone who can stand on a board is welcome to take part. We can supply boards and it promises to be an entertaining weekend so if you're up for it then let Pete know on the forum.
Just to confuse matters even more, the forecast for this weekend is looking poor so there's a good chance the whole competition will be postponed to the following weekend. As soon as we have confirmation we'll let you know.
That means the calendar now looks a bit like this:
Sept 26th/27th - Reserve date for Club Longboard Championships.
October 3rd/4th - Coaching & Camping at Polzeath.
October 10th - Beginners and Intermediate coaching, Bude.
October 18th - BSC vs Woolacombe club competition.
November 13th/14th/15th - Newquay weekender.
The forecast for the weekend may not be so special but it looks like a mid week miracle is about to happen - swell, sunshine and offshore winds. If you're on it then post up on the forum for lifts. If not, get down to the pub on Thursday to hear how it went down. 8pm onwards at the Pumphouse in Hotwells.
