| If you hadn't already gathered, our team did us proud at this weekends club longboard championships. 10 teams entered and BSC (still the only inland club in the draw) made a creditable 7th place beating the wolly longboarders in the process. The elusive Andy Deacon even pulled a heat win out of the bag. Congrats to Andy, Corndog, JP, Pete, Roger and Simon.
Steve H is waiting for confirmation but it looks like the coaching that was planned for this weekend will be postponed to 24th October due to a lack of surf. He's still planing to make the trip to Polzeath so all are still welcome. Watch the forum for the final word on that one.
The latest message from Andy about the Bude trip (10th October) is that the beginners lesson is filling up but there hasn't been any firm commitment on the improvers coaching session. If you've got your own board and you're looking for help with take-offs and turns then this session would be ideal so let him know if you're up for it.
Round two of BSC vs Woolacome Longboarders is scheduled for the following weekend (17th/18th October) at Combesgate. The format hasn't been confirmed but the message from Corndog is that they want to make it more of a fun team effort rather than a knockout comp. After this weekends result the Wooly guys have some serious pride at stake so it promises to be a lively affair! As always, everyone is welcome to come along for a beer and a surf even if you don't want to compete.
Looking a bit further ahead, Yaz is taking deposits for the Christmas party at the Firehouse Rotisserie on the 11th December. It's first come, first served so in her own immortal words: "No mula, no munchin!" (Who could turn down an offer like that?)
Finally, there's a committee session this Thursday at 7:30 in the Pumphouse before the back slapping starts in earnest from about 8pm. As always it's an open session so if you've got any ideas about what the club could or should be doing then come along and let us know.
