BSC SUP Challenge 2022

An evening of SUP relay team racing in Portishead Marine in partnership with www.portisheadsup.co.uk

All proceeds going to Surfers Against Sewage.

The format is 6x 4 person teams racing in fast and fun relays - we'll run heats, semi finals then finals. The SUPs will be provided, 2 per team for an 'organised' handover for each paddler.. you cannot use your own SUP.

Ability to swim at least 100m open water is recommended and floatation devices will be available for those who requre them. There will be an experienced water safety person on the water and another 2 on land to ensure everyone's safety.  Wearing a wetsuit is preferable incase you fall in, but more experienced paddlers may choose to wear shorts & rashvest.

A little SUP experience is recommended, but you can paddle kneeling or standing up - if you would like some tuition beforehand pls contact Christina at www.portisheadsup.co.uk to arrange a session beforehand at your own expense.

Arrive 7pm for a mandatory safety briefing on the grass in front of the Leisure Centre, then a 7.30pm start. All competitors wil be required to sign a mandatory disclaimer at registration.

Optional fish & chips afterwards on the marina (not included in ticket price) then a drink in Hall & Woodhouse.

Even if you are not paddling, do come and support and join us for a drink afterwards..... it should prove to be a fun & lively event.. not that we're competitive eh!
